David Caizzi Retires from Amos House Board

After five years of dedicated service, David Caizzi recently retired from Amos House’s Board of Directors. His new position at the Internal Revenue Service prohibits him from serving on nonprofit boards in Rhode Island. David’s previous job was Tax Manager at Batchelor, Frechette, McCrory, Michael & Co., a Providence-based CPA and business consulting firm.

“Amos House exposed me to things I had been sheltered from in my life...people who may never have had access to a decent school system or persons who looked after them,” David said. “Getting together and raising money to help was great.”

David had served as Treasurer of our board since 2005, helping to build a cash reserve and maintain our agency’s financial health.  He described board membership at Amos House as unique, rewarding and challenging.

“We had to ensure that we were always able to operate and serve people,” he explained. “We couldn’t miss a day because people would go hungry or be left homeless on the street. I liked being involved in an organization that had to keep going.”
David leaves Amos House with fond memories and looks forward to the future. In addition to working at the IRS, the devoted husband and father will continue to teach his older son’s church class and coach his younger son’s soccer team.
