The Friendship Café

Friendship Cafe, 500 Broad Street in Providence, RI

The Friendship Café is coming to town with scrumptious, healthy and affordable food. This April Amos House will open the neighborhood eatery at SWAP’s Southside Gateways development at 500 Broad Street in south Providence.

The café will serve breakfast and lunch seven days a week and offer ice cream, gourmet coffees, prepared foods for grab & go, and small catering orders.  Along with Guest Chef Nights the first and third Tuesday of each month, local groups can rent space for private afternoon and evening functions.

"The Friendship Café will raise money to support our Amos Culinary Education Program and provide training and job opportunities for ACE students and graduates,” said Eileen Hayes, Amos House President and CEO.  The café will replace our soup kitchen as ACE's primary training site and create more than 50 internship positions each year. Students will experience a variety of roles, learning restaurant and life skills in the process.

Have you heard about the Friendship Café's "Buy-A-Brick" Campaign?  Individuals, families and companies can become a permanent part of this venture by purchasing a brick engraved with your personal message.  The bricks will be part of the café's prominent recognition wall.  To learn how you can take part, click the link above or email jmoniz@amoshouse.com.
