Amos House = Help + Respect

Whatever the need, big or small, Amos House always tries to help.

Each day over 40 men, women and children walk in to social services looking for assistance with basic needs. We fill much needed prescriptions for those without insurance, make payments on utility bills to help families keep the heat on, assist with birth certificates and state identification that will allow a child to start school or an unemployed adult apply for a job, and, on some occasions, help a grieving relative bury her family member. Whatever the need may be, Amos House provides support without judgment and with the utmost respect.

With our varied programs and services, Amos House broadens the paths of possibilities for change for those in need. Through crisis intervention, housing, recovery meetings, intensive case management, job training and development, financial services, legal assistance, and ongoing outreach programs, Amos House helps change lives and creates possibilities where none existed before. Each year, we help over 200 people move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Amos House is helping to build sound individuals, families, and communities, one person at a time. The possibilities for change are endless, with your help.

A Place of Possibilities

Richard is one of the people who has benefited from this array of services. He came into the men’s 90-day program; went through our Transitional Jobs Program; participated as an integral member of our Community Outreach Program, and today is working, living in his own apartment, and connected to his family again.
