Homemade Baking Mixes
Baking a Difference
Baking for Good!
Dark and Stormy Ginger, Oatmeal Raisin, Mom’s Apple Crisp: these are just a few of the products in our line of Bristol Harbor Homemade baking mixes. The mixes are prepared and packaged by graduates of our programs and sold for retail at specialty shops such as Kate and Company of Bristol, Whole Foods, Eastside Market, Dave’s Marketplace Gift Baskets, and Tom’s Market in Warren. Better yet, come to the Friendship Café for a terrific meal and leave with a bag of one of our delicious mixes.
The business provides jobs for our guests and income for our programs. The mixes make inspired gifts for busy moms, college students, bachelors and anyone who loves homemade baked goods without the fuss. Please stop at one of the locations listed above and give us a try!
How the Program Works
Our Bristol Harbor baking mixes have provided a niche business for Amos House—one that allows us to train and employ a few residents at a time, as a stepping stone to full employment in the service industry. Through this innovative arm of Amos House, we supply delicious baked goods for sale in specialty stores around Rhode Island, we train and employ 5 individuals at a time, and we return any proceeds back into the training of the next group of people ready for work.
