Friendship Café Logo Contest
Amos House and the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce the Friendship Café Logo Contest.
Are you creative and talented? Do you think outside of the box? If you answered "yes," we need your help. We are inviting community members to submit original logo designs for Amos House's Friendship Café, which will open next spring at the new Southside Gateways complex at 500 Broad Street in Providence.
In addition to using your talent for a great cause, the winning designer will receive a "publicity package" that includes membership in the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, a feature story in the Member Highlight section of the Chamber's website and a $500 honorarium. The winning logo design will receive broad exposure and be used on all of the Café's signs, promotional materials and collateral.
Judging Guidelines Designs will be judged by the following:
- The logo must be eye catching
- It must be memorable
- It must be scalable (equally effective on a coffee mug and building sign)
- It must be describable
- It must be cohesive (the image and text should work together)
- It should be visually compatible with Amos House's website identity
- It should capture South Providence's vitality and represent the Friendship Café's social mission and commitment to fresh, healthy, locally grown food
- It must be technically sound
- It should translate into black and white for single color printing
- It must be an original design of which no part is trademarked
Entries may be computer or hand generated and should be submitted in PDF format, no larger than 600 pixels square. Please email entries to jmoniz@amoshouse.com and include your name, mailing address and phone number. All entries will be posted on Amos House's website and judged by a panel of community leaders. The contest will end on December 31, 2008. The winner will be announced and the winning logo unveiled at a special Café event in the spring.
