What's New at Amos House
Amos House Holiday Giving Another Great Success!
We want to thank all of our donors and volunteers who helped to make another magical shopping event happen this year! With your help, we provided toys, new clothing, boots, and coats to over 300 children and adults living in Amos House programs, involved in our training and literacy programs, and moving their families in a positive direction. There were tears of joy as our guests took turns doing their "shopping," choosing just the right things for each of their children and loved ones. These families would not have had any gifts at all without this wonderful event. One new mother in the program said, "My son wanted the claw digger so badly, and I knew I had no way of getting that for him and was thinking so hard about what reason I was going to give to him as to why Santa couldn't bring it for him. I walked in to the shopping area and there it was. I just cried. He is going to be so happy." The father of four young children chose books and new toys for each of his children and said, "I hope that they will just sit around all day and read to me--that's my hope for Christmas. This is just a miracle. Thank you." Although safe and stabilized, our residents still do not have the discretionary income to purchase hoiday gifs for their loved ones. Your generosity has ensured that all the Amos House children and adults have a wonderful holiday this year, with food, shelter, and toys!!

Amos House Celebrates our Mother Child Program

On a beautiful fall Sunday recently, more than 60 people enjoyed a brunch in support of our Mother Child Reunification Program. This program serves up to 13 mothers and their children and provides wrap-around services that include parenting classes, independent living skills, financial literacy, job training and development, recovery support and counseling and any other specialized services the families need. Guests heard stories of hope and promise from mothers currently in the program, took tours of the beautiful house in which the families live and had the opportunity to see women who had successfully completed the program working in our catering business, www.morethanameal.net which provided the food for the magical event. If you were unable to attend, or are interested in more information about this or any other Amos House program, contact us here. To make a donation to Amos House, simply click the "donate" button on the main page and help Amos House to continue to provide these valuable services to our community. Thank you to all who came out to support Amos House at the event, and to all who continue to support us in so many ways.
