Link Linda Cline drops off food donation

Last month the Greater Providence RI Chapter of The Links, Inc. gave a generous donation of food items to Amos House, including canned and packaged goods and fresh breads.

The Links, Inc. is an international organization of 12,000 women committed to Leadership, Friendship and Service. Its 270 chapters located in 42 states, the District of Columbia, and The Commonwealth of the Bahamas have a mission of service in four areas: Services to Youth, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and The Arts.

The Links, Inc. is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of African-American women who are decision makers. They are business and civic leaders, role models, mentors, activists and volunteers who work towards a common vision by engaging like-minded organizations and individuals for partnership.

The Greater Providence RI Chapter of The Links has seventeen members. Its recent food donation to Amos House “represented a need and a need that was being addressed in our own community,” said Beverly Ledbetter, President of the Chapter.

She applauded Amos House for its overall work. “I believe people who demonstrate a desire to not just help people but help people help themselves is powerful!” Ledbetter said.
