Amos Carpentry & Maintenance
Training Program
Skill Building + Community + Education = Employment
Fresh air, fresh start
In 2007 Amos House launched the Amos Carpentry Training (ACT). Our goal was to assist men and women who were unemployed to gain skills in the carpentry industry that would lead to good paying jobs.
Our curriculum is nationally recognized by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). In addition to learning the basics of carpentry, the students receive OSHA-10 and OSHA-40 certification, lead renovator/remodeler training, mold and pest removal training and deconstruction experience. The program is 15 weeks and accepts men and women who are homeless or struggling with unemployment. Amos House provides support throughout the program to ensure that the students have what they need to graduate. Since the program began, we have graduated over 300 men and women.
