Food

When it comes to meals, Amos House is a constant. Always there, no matter what. In 1976, our founder Sister Eileen Murphy started a small soup kitchen to provide dinner to several dozen homeless men. Today, our dining hall serves free breakfast and lunch to as many as 800 people, nearly every day.

Our Dining Hall Schedule:

  • Breakfast: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Lunch: 11:00 AM -12:30 PM, Monday through Saturday
  • Please note: The dining hall is closed the first Saturday of every month

Since we opened our doors, Amos House has served more than two million meals to the poor and hungry in our community. In recent years, we’ve seen a tremendous increase in the number of working poor men, women and families that simply cannot make ends meet. Amos House reaches out to a very diverse population.  We are on the front line of fighting hunger in Rhode Island.
