More than a meal, Amos House is hope. And a smile to start the day. The Amos House social service staff serves more than 15,000 people a year, providing intensive case management for our residents and a wide range of walk-in services for anyone in crisis. Our services include:
- Emergency assistance, including help with rent and utilities
- Transportation assistance (bus passes and RIPTIX)
- Substance abuse counseling, program and referrals
- HIV education and referrals
- Mental health referrals
- Health care on site, once a week
- Assistance with dental care
- Prescription, eye exams and eyeglass assistance
- Legal aid referrals
- Help with applications for SSI
- Help with applications for food stamps, FIP and other benefits
- Personal hygiene items
- Housing placement and assistance with housing-related problems
- Money management and life skills training
- Job placement referrals
- Assistance with continuing education referrals and applications
- A mailing address for persons who are homeless
Stop by 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Our Social Services department is in the blue building at 413 Friendship Street. |
