Holiday Donation Drive
Amos House will yet again be helping families in the Providence community have a joyful Holiday season through our Holiday Donation Drive.
Make a child's Holiday! New toys for infants to 15 years old; new clothing for infants to children size 18; new clothing for adult sized teens, sm-3X; and gift cards to Walmart, Target, & KMart are all needed and greatly appreciated. Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at our Development Office, 411 Friendship Street, Providence, Monday-Friday 9am to 4pm, until December 12th.
This program is organized in a manner that gives the family members a chance to create a more personal gift exchange experience. Instead of assigning specific families to community donors, we are asking donors to provide an assortment of new toys, clothing, and educational materials for children of varying ages. We will collect donations for boys and girls, who range in age from infants to 15 years-old. Families in the community will have a chance to come and do their own “shopping” for their children from among the donations, thus allowing parents to choose toys and clothing that they feel their children would love. Each family will be given a certain number of tickets (depending upon the number of children in their immediate care) for their shopping time and will be assigned a specific shopping time to choose their gifts. We hope that this will make the gift giving process more personal for the parents and will allow the donors to purchase items that best fit their specific budgets.
As always, we will also be accepting gift cards to area grocery stores such as Stop and Shop and Shaws, to stores such as Walmart and Target and other department stores to distribute to the parents. These gift cards can help alleviate some additional stress during the holidays and can provide for a festive holiday meal for the family.
Donations of gift wrap will also be accepted. If you or your coworkers are interested in being a part of the Holiday Donation Program, please contact Jessica at 401-272-0220, ext 211.
