William J. Allen
William “Bill” Allen is a former Executive Vice-President for the United Way, where he headed the Department of Community Service. Bill holds a Master of Social Planning degree from Boston College. He now teaches public policy at Brown University, Providence College and Boston College. Bill has served as President of the Board of Overseers of Lincoln School, Chairman of the Cumberland School Committee, Chair of the Cumberland Public Library Board of Trustees and Chair of the RI Service Alliance. Additonally, he serves on the boards of Butler Hospital , RI Kids Count and Coffee Kids and has been active with Youth in Action, City Year, and America’s Promise. His interests include community development, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy and public policy.
