Young Professional Shares Time and Talent

Sales from The Mighty Sprout benefit Amos houseAdrian Bussone has discovered several ways to give back to her community. The young entrepreneur and product designer at Ximedica is a member of the Amos House Leadership Council. She is also donating proceeds from her jewelry business to Amos House.

“I’ve always wanted to be involved in helping people who are homeless or dealing with substance abuse,” said the 24-year-old designer. “It’s an issue that’s occurred in my family and this is my way of giving back.”

After graduating from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Adrian moved to Rhode Island to work at Ximedica, a design firm specializing in consumer healthcare and medical devices. In search of new friends and a sense of community, she joined our Leadership Council, a group of socially conscious young adults who support Amos House financially and through social activities. In the past year, Adrian has volunteered her time and talents to support multiple projects and events benefiting Amos House. They range from making phone calls to help thank donors and volunteering at our block party with United Healthcare to donating handmade jewelry for our American Dream Gala auction.

Recently Adrian launched her own jewelry business, The Mighty Sprout, fulfilling a life-long dream. The company sells jewelry that is one of a kind and inspired by nature. From earrings to necklaces, her pieces range from fine and delicate to earthy and bold. Adrian is donating 15 percent of each sale to Amos House.

The medical product designer by day and jewelry maker by night is driven by creativity and generosity. Her ultimate goal: “spread the love.”
